Star Trek – again
I went to Leeds as usual today and at about 6:30 met up at The Light with Peter to go to the cinema. The plan was to see the film and then eat, but the next showing was 8:00 so we ate first at Nando’s.
I tried the steak for a change, it was OK but over priced for a steak sandwich.
The film we saw was Star Trek; The film was very action packed with little depth compared to the best Star Trek but from Kirk’s birth onwards it is now an alternate timeline and anything can happen, or have happened, for example Robert April should have been the first Captain of the Enterprise not Christopher Pike, Kirk being promoted from Cadet to Captain (and all the other Cadet promotions), was a bit far fetched except that 7 ships and crews were destroyed and perhaps there was a shortage of qualified personnel? The main thing is: Star Trek is back!
I had intended to shout out “Don’t tell him Pike!” during the torture scene, but got so engrossed in the film that I missed the opportunity. I like Captain Pike, hopefully he’ll apear in future Star Trek.
