Nomination 2007
Nomination for the post of National Chairman
Candidate: John A Smith
Member of: Huddersfield Plus Group
Important changes took place in 2006, the restructure was put into place with the adoption of the new Constitution and the name of the Federation was changed.
The NEC has worked hard as has the Federation generally to make these changes work for the benefit of the Federation, however there is still much to do and so I would like to put myself forward for the post of National Chairman for a further year.
It has been suggested that an event similar to the National Training event, Inspire be organised in 2007 and possibly a similar or combined event concentrating on Publicity and recruitment. I would like to see these or this event take place as such events will help Plus to define it’s direction following the big changes put in place last year.
Also on the subject of direction I would also like to see the five year National Plan discussed by the NEC put into practice, especially with regards to input from all parts of the Federation.
As I’ve said before, Publicity is an important part of what Plus needs to do and the NEC has two main functions, one is the Web Site which I wish to see developed further, I’d like the NEC to be able to appoint an Internet Co-ordinator as soon as possible. The other is with the setting up of Publicity campaigns which I would encourage the Federation as a whole to participate in.
Last year with the help of the National Activities Co-ordinator appointed by the NEC rules of engagement were drawn up to enable the organisation of national scale activities, a full and varied programme has been put together for 2007 which I would like to see continue into the future as activities, especially at the national scale are what give Plus it’s identity as a fun organisation that organises a wide range of activities in a friendly, social atmosphere.
